MycoDDR Trident

MycoDDR is a reliable processing system that facilitates the digestion and decontamination of patient specimens in a controlled process, which is essential for mycobacterium survival and recovery.

This rigid pH control leads to faster culture results, improved smear quality, and decreases lab tech variability. It is time to redefine AFB processing, and it all starts with MycoDDR.

Our experience with the MycoDDR Reagents has been very positive. Strengths include: ease of use, reduced contamination, fewer false positives. Before fully integrating the reagents, we conducted a validation process where all technicians in the TB lab had the opportunity to assess reagent preparation and incorporation into the workflow. This was especially important for those who had been using BD for a long time. We focused on balancing ease of use in testing with providing higher quality patient testing. Since implementing MycoDDR, we've seen less contamination and an increase in positive MGIT results, which is not due to contamination.
