Immunodiffusion for Antibody Detection
|
Candidiasis is an opportunistic infection with Candida albicans, and less frequently, with other species of Candida. Two distinct forms of the disease are recognized, superficial (oral, gastrointestinal, vaginal and dermatological) and systemic (septicemia, pulmonary, pericardial, etc.). The superficial form is generally not life-threatening, while the systemic form has a high mortality rate.
